Dear Families,

 

Welcome to Books & Hearts Family Child Care!  My name is Angela.  I am the Program Director at Books & Hearts and a work-at-home mother. As an early childhood professional, my objective is to provide a safe, healthy, welcoming, and supportive environment for helping your children to learn and grow.  My child care service is here to help bring your family more work-life balance, productivity, and peace of mind.  

I fully appreciate the many obligations that today's working parents have to face.  That is where my child care service can help.  Let Books & Hearts lend a hand!  Being of service to families brings me great joy and fulfillment.  It is what I love to do!

• Located in family-oriented community, "Impressions Development" in Kleinburg (Major Mac Dr. West, between Highways 27 & 50)

• Indoor play area on main level (lots of natural light)

• Children have their own washroom

• Brand new playground and school less than 1 minute walk from daycare

• Enrichment program includes Montessori activities for infants to preschool age children, reading, games, arts/crafts, table activities, Lego, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math), and indoor/outdoor movement and exercise

• Daily updates provided to parents via HiMama App

• Safety awareness and protocols practiced regularly

Child Care Program
 

At Books & Hearts, the goal of my child care program is to help positively guide the children's energy and enthusiasm by offering a schedule that includes fun and engaging Montessori inspired learning experiences.  A child's first teacher is their family, and working along with you, I will encourage your children towards a lifelong love of learning.  My approach is to always respect each child's individual personality and needs, and to gear the child care experience accordingly.

Books & Hearts is located in a family child care home in a new residential neighbourhood in the village of Kleinburg.  The child care home is fully climate-controlled and child-proofed according to the ages of the children attending the program (i.e. baby gates for infants and toddlers, electrical outlet protection, cabinet locks).  The indoor playroom is located on the main level with lots of natural light, and the children's washroom is located right next to it. The kitchen is also on the main floor, right beside the playroom.  

 

A short 100 m walk (1 minute) leads to the new Pope Francis Catholic Elementary School and Secord Park.  Secord Park is a beautiful community park with a new playground structure, large grass area, and picnic shelter.  Weather permitting, the park will be visited almost every day. The children will be able to play in a safe and fun environment, engaging their gross motor skills.  As the children are walked to the park, they will practice safety rules at every sidewalk crossing.

Health & Safety Awareness

Books & Hearts maintains documentation outlining our Emergency Management Policies and Procedures.  Emergency protocols are reviewed and practiced on a regular basis.

​

Our staff maintain current First Aid & CPR certification, a clear criminal record check, along with proof of excellent health and full immunizations. 

 

The Books & Hearts child care home is clean and safe, and we follow the York Region Public Health Guide for Child Care Providers.

Communication

With both children and parents, our staff maintain a fully collaborative relationship with open communication and clear expectations. 

 

The atmosphere we strive to create is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and appreciation.  The goal is for all children attending the Books & Hearts program to learn and grow together, and to have fun every day!

 

Book Club!

As the name implies, at Books & Hearts, there is a big emphasis on reading.  In addition to practicing our reading skills every day, there is also a Book Club for the children.

A great deal of care is used to implement a plan for each day's activities.  We believe that every experience, no matter how big or small, can be a learning opportunity.
